Turn Your Blog Into a Book

Turning a blog into a book means choosing your best posts, ordering them into chapters and rewriting them so they read as one book instead of a stack of posts.

Short answer

Who it's for
Bloggers, newsletter writers and LinkedIn writers with years of posts on one subject.
What you get
Paste or upload up to 50,000 words of posts, approve a chapter plan, and get a book written from them in your voice, with a cover and KDP files.
How long
Writing takes minutes (a median 1.1 minutes for a full draft). Picking the posts is the longest part.

  • LinkedIn

On a computer: Settings & Privacy, Data privacy, then Get a copy of your data. Pick articles and posts; LinkedIn emails a ZIP, usually within a day.

Sample

Ten posts in. An 8-chapter book out.

We pasted ten posts from a freelance designer's money blog, 1,148 words, and used three of them for Voice DNA. Wren Pro planned 8 chapters and wrote 43,548 words in under three minutes. Here is one line from a post and what it became.

His post
I stopped saying "no rush" in the email. There is always a rush. It's called rent.
Chapter 6
One small habit changed the whole tone of my billing emails: I stopped saying “no rush.” I used to think it sounded friendly. It does sound friendly. It also teaches people that my cash flow is optional. There is always a rush. It is called rent, software, taxes, and the mildly depressing fact that groceries do not accept good intentions.

Questions people ask

Can I turn my blog into a book?

Yes. Copy your best posts on one subject into the app, approve the chapter plan, and it writes the book from them in your voice. Newsletters, LinkedIn posts and podcast transcripts work the same way.

Can I import my blog from its web address?

Not yet. Paste the posts or upload them as a Word, PDF, Markdown or text file.

How many posts do I need?

Fewer than you think. Our sample used ten posts, 1,148 words. More posts on one subject give it more of your own material, which means fewer repeated points and fewer invented examples.

Does it keep my wording?

It keeps your ideas, lines and voice, and writes new chapters around them. If you want every post word for word, import them as a manuscript on the Author plan instead.

Will it make things up?

It can. Our sample added worked examples with dollar amounts the blogger never wrote. Check every number, name and claim against your posts before you publish.

Will Amazon accept a book made from posts that are already online?

Yes, if the posts are yours. KDP doesn't accept text that is freely available online unless the copyright owner publishes it, and it may ask you to show you hold the rights. If you enroll the ebook in KDP Select, the same content can't be offered digitally anywhere else, your blog included.

What does it cost?

The free plan writes a book from your posts that you can read in full. To download the files, Entrepreneur is $49/month or $297/year. Importing posts word for word is Author, $19/month.

Years of posts. One book.
